Same-Day Visitors Drive the Numbers
Nearly 2 million same-day visitors entered the city (+24% year-on-year), while overnight stays climbed 3.7% to 1.48 million. Same-day tourists spent just a few hours, while overnight travelers averaged 2.4 days.
Mainland China Powers Visitor Growth
Mainland China sent 2.56 million tourists (+17.4%), thanks largely to the Individual Visit Scheme. The Greater Bay Area was especially strong—Zhuhai arrivals jumped 57%. much of this growth came from the Individual Visit Scheme, which has been a major driver since visa policy updates in June 2025.
Regional Trends: Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia
- Hong Kong: 625,000 visitors (+6.2%)
- Taiwan: 79,000 visitors (+21%)
- Thailand: +49% growth
- Indonesia: +10% growth
- Philippines & Malaysia: slight dips
The U.S. also sent 15,796 tourists (+6.2%), proving Macao’s appeal is going global.
