Meta Ray-Ban Smart Glasses Unveiled by Mark Zuckerberg

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has unveiled the latest innovation in wearable technology: the Meta smart glasses. These AI-powered glasses allow users to access messages, photos, and online content directly through a tiny display embedded in the lens, reducing the need to look down at phones. The announcement took place at Meta Connect 2025 in Menlo Park, California, where the company showcased its vision for integrating AI seamlessly into daily life.

The new Meta smart glasses are designed to deliver a personal AI assistant experience while keeping users present in the moment. Zuckerberg explained that the glasses can provide real-time navigation, live captioning, translations, and information panels for questions asked via the Meta AI assistant. The display remains visible only to the wearer, maintaining privacy while offering unprecedented convenience.

Features of the Meta Smart Glasses

The Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses feature a tiny screen on the inside corner of the right lens, giving visual feedback for messages, calls, and social media content. Users can navigate the display with subtle gestures using a companion neural wristband, enhancing hands-free interaction.

Additionally, the glasses include live captions, real-time translations, and the ability to review photos and videos instantly. This makes the Meta smart glasses especially useful for journalists, professionals, and anyone seeking a more immersive digital experience.

For sports enthusiasts, Meta introduced the **Meta Oakley Vanguard ** glasses, which include enhanced audio, 3K video capture, and workout-tracking features that sync with platforms like Garmin and Strava. The smart glasses provide up to nine hours of battery life and are both water- and dust-resistant.

Availability and Pricing

The Meta Ray-Ban Display smart glasses will be available starting September 30 at a price of $799, through select retail stores including Verizon, Ray-Ban, LensCrafters, and Best Buy. The Gen 2 Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses, priced at $379, offer updated colors, extended battery life, and improved video capture capabilities.

Meta aims to produce 10 million pairs of smart glasses annually starting in 2026, positioning itself as a major player in the wearable AI technology space, competing with Google Glass, Snap Spectacles, Samsung, and other emerging AI eyewear products.

Why Meta Smart Glasses Matter

The Meta smart glasses mark a significant step forward in AI wearable technology, bridging the gap between digital interaction and real-world presence. By integrating AI, AR, and hands-free functionality, these glasses showcase how future wearables may transform daily communication, navigation, and media consumption.
